Global Traceability are working with the Sustainable Biomass Program (SBP), providing an important and necessary tool to support the integrity of their certification system.

SBP is a certification system designed for woody biomass, mostly in the form of wood pellets and wood chips, used in industrial, large-scale energy production. Their vision is an economically, environmentally and socially sustainable solid biomass supply chain that contributes to a low carbon economy.

To support this ambition, Global Traceability are working with SBP to provide a tool to facilitate the collection, collation and transmission of a range of data, including emissions data, along the biomass supply chain, ensuring a clear and effective data transfer solution for SBP certificate holders, which is both manageable and auditable.

Global Traceability provide the RADIX Tree platform as SBP’s Data Transfer System (DTS). RADIX Tree enables the tracking of woody biomass transactions from source (the biomass producer or wood pellet/chip producer) to the end-user (generator/energy producer) and at all points in between. Ownership of the transaction at any given point can be tracked against companies. Any change of ownership is recorded with a date and time stamp. This data will build a comprehensive record of SBP biomass transactions in the system, enabling users to access reports and accurate payment and auditing information.

We look forward to a successful partnership with SBP.
